The Number One Thing You Must Do as a Strategic Business Owner

Most of us started our businesses because we wanted to have freedom, flexibility, fun, and fortune! But how’s that working for you?

Ask yourself these important questions that every Strategic Business Owner asks him or herself:

  • Can you walk away from your business today for one or two months and come back to find it operating smoothly and profitably?
  • Can you escape even for two weeks?
  • When was the last time you took a vacation without calling in almost every day?

Are You Where You Envisioned?

What happened to your vision of freedom and fun? Do you really own a valuable business that could be sold to someone else, or do you just own a job? What about that dream of fortune? Is your business producing the income you want and expected? Or do you work too much for too little return?

Many—if not most—business owners habitually suffer from generalized feelings of anxiety, mental fatigue, and of being trapped in the business. They feel like prisoners and have lost hope of freedom, flexibility, fun, and fortune. I call this the business owner blues!

But you don’t have to live this way.

Become a Strategic Business Owner

The key is to become a Strategic Business Owner. And the first step to becoming a Strategic Business Owner is to look at your current reality. Nothing can be changed until your reality is faced honestly. The late Eric Hoffer once said, “We lie loudest when we lie to ourselves.” We must be brutally honest with ourselves about where our business is today.

Take a look in the mirror. Think about what’s working well and what’s not working well in both your business and your personal life. I do not think you can ever become a Strategic Business Owner without asking yourself these questions.

I hope you will begin following our blog as I will be guiding you out of the business owner blues and onto the path of becoming a Strategic Business Owner. I want to help you rediscover the joy, passion and blessings of being a business owner.
